Sidewalk Repair
Have you received a letter from your local municipality regarding "Sidewalk Hazard and Repair Notification'. Reese Concrete Construction LLC repairs or replaces your sidewalk to meet your municipality requirements.
We do everything from meeting with the inspector to determine what needs to be fixed, to pulling the permit and completing the work with a final inspection. We make it easy for you.
Q & A
Q: Can you grind the sidewalk or does it need to be replaced?
A: Generally if the offset in the concrete is over 1 inch we will need to remove the panel and replace.
Q: Does Reese Concrete Construction grind concrete?
A: Typically No. We will grind a small uplift under 1/2 inch as long as we are removing and pouring other panels.
An angle grinder can be purchased for $60 and will take about 20 to 45 minutes to grind the edge of a panel. It is more cost effective for a homeowner or a handyman to accomplish grinding tasks.
Q: Do you give price breaks to multiple homeowners?
A: Yes, we give discounts to multiple homeowners or if multiple panels need to be replaced.
Q: How quickly can this be completed?
A: Usually after being contacted about work needing to be performed I will solicit business from your neighbors to reduce everyone's cost and meet with the inspector. Then I will pull the permit. The work is usually completed within a week of pulling the permit.
Q: Do you need to remove tree roots or the tree?
A: Usually the cause of the problem is due to roots growing (lifting panel) or inadequate sub-grade (sinking panel). Tree roots may need to be removed and this may cause the tree to die. From an arborist's mouth "the total tree roots that can be removed without affecting the tree's health is 25%." If the tree needs to be removed we can refer you to local arborist.
